Event Description
For the first time in the Isle of Thanet for over 50 years a performance of the magnificent work: St Matthew Passion. This was written by Johann Sebastian Bach in 1727 for solo voices, double choir and double orchestra. It sets chapters 26 and 27 of the Gospel of Matthew to music, with interspersed chorales and arias. It is widely regarded as one of the masterpieces of classical sacred music. This will be a once in a life-time opportunity to hear this work preformed locally to Thanet. It will be performed in association with the Seventy Chamber Choir and Ian Crowther.
