Double Your Money

Following the success of Double Your Money in 2002-03 and 2003-04 and the level of interest generated, Arts & Business South East is delighted to announce a full-year programme of the match-funding initiative for first time business sponsors of the arts and the smaller budget. This initiative is exclusive to the South East region and will run for one year with three application deadlines. The Double Your Money programme aims to stimulate small and medium size businesses to engage in arts partnerships for the first time and to 'road- test' arts sponsorship on a small scale before committing to greater investments. Double Your Money matches first-time business sponsorship of arts and cultural projects pound for pound up to £1,000. (Examples: a £500 sponsorship could lever £500 match funding, a £1,500 sponsorship could lever a maximum of £1,000 match funding.) Companies may apply, provided they are first-time sponsors of the arts.

Any eligible arts and business partnership may apply from any part of the South East region, however, specific priority criteria have been identified which mirror our regional priorities and those of our partners: Arts Council England South East, South East England Development Agency and South East Museums Libraries and Archives Council. Applications to Double Your Money which specifically address one or more of these three criteria will score more highly than those which do not.

  • Diversity meaning ethnic and cultural diversity, and in addition, arts projects by, with and for artists with disabilities
  • Coastal Renaissance meaning arts projects focusing exclusively on, or contributing to, physical or social regeneration, community development, social inclusion within coastal towns
  • Museums meaning an exhibition, creative or participatory project in, or associated with, a museum
  •
There will be three rounds for the 2004-5 phase of this programme. Applications should be submitted on this form and signed by both partners. The deadlines for receipt of applications in 2004-5 are:

  • 12 noon on Friday 3rd December 2004

Decisions will be announced within 10 working days of the above deadlines. Any award from Arts & Business must be spent by 31st March 2005.
  •
The Double Your Money match-funding programme is designed to complement the existing Arts & Business New Partners programme. New Partners focuses on broadening and deepening arts and business partnerships. The minimum investment required to apply to New Partners is £1,000. Please contact Arts & Business South East for further details about New Partners.
The Double Your Money programme is aimed at increasing the benefits to a sponsor or enhancing a sponsorship partnership. Activities could include:
