Double Your Money

Eligibility criteria

1.Both the arts and business partners must be based in the Arts & Business South East region, which stretches from Buckinghamshire in the north and Hampshire in the west to the south east coast, including the Isle of Wight but excluding Greater London authorities.

2.Priority will be given to arts and business partnerships developing activities within the areas of Cultural Diversity, Urban Renaissance and Museums.

3.The business (or a brand, branch or division of the business) must be undertaking its first sponsorship of the arts in 2004/05 and the additional elements supported through any Double Your Money award from Arts & Business must be completed by 31st March 2005.

4.The business must be a "for profit" commercial organisation. Registered charities and their commercial arms are not eligible as partners. Money from the business partner must be paid from the business' own funds, not from a third party, such as a corporate trust/foundation.

5.The arts organisation must be one of the following: a registered charity, legally constituted as a non-profit distributing company, a local authority arts initiative, local authority cultural facility, an organisation already in receipt of arts-related subsidy from a public funding body, an educational establishment, a local or amateur organisation, a museum or an individual artist. If in doubt, please check with your local Arts & Business office. Commercial / "for profit" arts organisations are not eligible for this programme.

6.Both cash sponsorship and in kind sponsorship are eligible, though where an in kind contribution has been made, the partners must be able to demonstrate that the business has received sponsorship benefits. Editorial coverage in the media, corporate membership and donations are not eligible. Where there is competition for funds cash sponsorship will score more highly than in kind sponsorship.

7.Arts organisations may apply more than once with different first time business sponsors, whereas a business may only apply once.

8.The business partner must agree to meet with an Arts & Business manager following conclusion of the project, to explore the sustainability and future potential of their involvement with the arts.

Applicants that have not been successful will be notified by email within 10 working days of the respective application deadlines. Successful applicants will initially be informed by email and then receive an offer letter sent to the lead applicant, i.e. the partner to whom the grant will be made. The offer letter should be signed by the lead applicant and returned to Arts & Business to acknowledge acceptance of the grant and the terms and conditions. Payment of the grant may be requested as soon as the funded activities have taken place by submitting a statement (supplied with the offer letter), signed by the lead applicant, confirming that the funds have been spent in accordance with the terms and conditions as set out in the offer letter. This signed statement must be submitted to Arts & Business South East by 31st March 2005.

Please request/complete the simple application form. Applications which Arts & Business deem to meet the above eligibility and criteria fully, will be awarded £ for £ match-funding (up to a maximum of £1,000) subject to the availability of funds for the scheme. The decisions of Arts & Business will be final.
